Black Maternal Care Crisis in the U.S.

Posted by Onassis Krown on
Black Maternal Care
Black maternal care is a critical issue that deserves our urgent attention. In the U.S., Black women are three to four times more likely to experience complications or die from pregnancy-related causes than their white counterparts. This disparity isn’t due to biological differences; it’s rooted in systemic inequalities, biases in healthcare, and a lack of resources and support. Every mother deserves respectful, quality care. We need to raise awareness, invest in community support, train providers in cultural sensitivity, and listen to Black women’s voices. By addressing these gaps, we can work toward a future where every mother has a safe, healthy experience during and after pregnancy.
