While a complete history of each would fill volumes, their contributions to American society, culture, and intellectual life are undeniable and worthy of celebration.

The history of racism and segregation in America is no secret. This history reveals itself today in even how Historically-Black Greek Organizations exist from fraternity colors, letters, paraphernalia to stepping. Once upon a time, schools including colleges & universities didn't allow Black students. Eventually this gradually changed for the institutions but many college organizations were still free to choose who they wanted to be members of their groups.

The History of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc is about a lot more than ice cold brothers, step shows, greek paraphernalia, pledging or cool hymns. Alpha Phi Alpha was founded by seven men known as the jewels on the campus of Cornell University in Ithaca NY. This fraternity has been instrumental in civil rights in America and worldwide.
